Hi Gina! I just got your DVD today, thank you! I loved the little note and quote! Thanks for taking the time to do that! I have to say, your video totally motivated me and I seriously can't wait to hit the gym tomorrow!

Thanks again Gina!!

Your dvd is so great...all the training was intense...but your cooking was great...I love learning ways to make healthy less boring...Keep up the great work... Thank You!!

Just a quick note to let you know how awesome your dvd is!! You really inspire me to train harder and eat cleaner!!

Hey Gina,

Thanks for receiving your great DVD and the personal note you added, which made it a very special present. It gives us a wonderful motivation in our training.

Ms. Gina,
I just wanted to tell you that your fitness video was so inspirational to me and I loved every moment of it. I have been training harder since watching it.

Gina, I love love love the dvd! I'm watching it right now. This will be a good dvd for me to use during cardio here at home, and my gym has cardio machines with dvd players on the...SCORE! Heheh!

Hello Gina!

I received your training DVD yesterday. I really enjoyed watching it and learned a lot.
Awesome‏! Thank you!!

Hi Gina,

I recieved your DVD about a month ago and I gotta say I really enjoyed it. I actually used your recipe this morning for one of my meals the chicken sushi wrap thingy (sorry cant remember the name). It was delicious. Especially now that Im 8 wks out from my first competition it was great to have something different yet diet compliant. Thank you so much.

I also have been implementing some of the shoulder excercise you showed using the same technique and it has definitely helped my shoulder development.

Gina, I purchased your video and have to tell you it was the best money i've ever spent. I watch it all the time and really follow EVERYTHING you do and recommend. It really motivates me. Im really glad you put this video together for those of us who admire your physic and strive to place higher at shows. Just want to say WAY TO GO!

Gina, my hubby and I just got done making your cabbage sushi wraps from your DVD !! We were in heaven so awesome!!!

Just a quick email to let you know that I received your DVD earlier this week. Thank you!! I have watched your DVD three times already and have just made a batch of zucchini bread... YUM. Your DVD was awesome... it's funny how you can get stuck in a training rutt performing the same dozen or so exercises and then you watch a DVD or see someone training in the gym and think 'Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that exercise!'. So, as well as making a batch of zucchini bread I also incorporated some of your shoulder exercises into my routine which was brilliant.

Many thanks

Hi Gina,

I watched your video for the first time last night believe me I'll be watching it over and over again. Thanks for the video it was AWESOME!

Hi Gina,

I would like to thank you for your DVD and it is the best DVD yet! It is so helpful and chopped full of tips! Well worth the money! I love love love it! I couldn't get enough I watched it the next morning while walking on the treadmill, watched it during my lunch break at work, while riding the stationary that night for pm cardio and again afterwards on the floor in my own little corner at the gym. I also turned it on in my car on my way to work can't get enough your form and technique just awesome! To top it all off you mailed it to me with a personal hand written note are truly a professional! I wish yout he very best in your personal and professional life. Again thank you!

I just raced through the DVD and can already tell I will watch it over and over again! I especially like the shoulder workout. My chiro has forbidden me from doing upright rows and it was a relief to see so many other options to train shoulders.

Hi Gina,

Now that I have had time to re-watch your DVD, I really enjoyed it. I love the recipes! I am going to use this DVD as inspiration for myself to get motivated when I am not 100%.

I use your DVD for pre-contest workout prep and posing practice.

Hi Gina, got the dvd tuesday, watched it last night and again during my am cardio. It is Excellent; you look great, it is well produced and II picked up some great tips and lots of inspiration.

Wednesday Update

What a busy day in deed!! CocoNUT Bars came out delicious!! CHECK OUT THE RECIPE AND VIDEO POSTED! It is amazing the creations you can come up, i'll tell you. It is endless! People ask how and I say, "it is a lifestyle". There is no reason to not eat this way, there are so many ways to eat deliciously healthy! There is really no other way to eat or live! I have been raised on such amazing foods my entire life that they are just a part of me. It is my mission to help others see that clean eating does not mean boring, tasteless foods but rather tasty & super delicious, not to mention nutritious! It is a win win, you can create the most amazing meals out of clean foods. I will always argue that clean foods are never boring and taste better than the "real thing" but will never argue that it does take time and commitment! If you want it bad enough, if you want to feel and look healthy, you must put in the time and work! hummm... isn't that with everything!? If you want it bad enough, you have to invest the time and energy!!! Nothing comes without work. Expand your mind, open your cabinets and get creative!! You will be surprised the creations you will come up with! Craving something? Find a way to create your craving the Gina Approved way, it can be done! Can't seem to find a way, ask me and I will find a way!!!

Smarter Summer Trim down tips...

When it comes to obtaining your summer body, trim down with my smarter ways to reach your summer goals. You do not have to spend endless hours in the gym or eat nothing but egg whites, protein powder and greens. Summertime does not mean that it is time to start "dieting" rather it is a to be used as a motivational means to step things up a notch. Use summer as an inspirational tool to get you focused and reenergized! Don't train harder and longer to reach your goals, rather just be a little bit smarter! I mentioned a few in my last NEWSLETTER but let me expand upon them and offer a few more Smart Tips! (Which, by the way, if you are not subscribed to my newsletter, be sure to sign up HERE)

Here are my Smart Tips to help you regain focus and momentum:

1. DO A.M. CARDIO. Not only will you dig into fat stores quicker but you will start your day out right. Mark my words, start tomorrow and tell me how you feel! It is a double positive, burn fat and start your day on the right note! Nothing like a.m. cardio!

2. GET IN AND GET OUT! As mentioned in a recent Tip, try Tabata. Vary your workouts and cardio with higher intensity training. Tabata training is a quick, fun and intense way to gain amazing results. The full Tabata program is four minutes long but may be the longest four minutes of your life. Tabata intervals follow this structure:
Push hard for 20 seconds
Rest for 10 seconds.
Repeat this eight times.
You can do this with exercises, preferably large muscle exercises, such as front squats or better yet, I love to use Tabata training for sprint work! Of course, this will not replace every cardio/workout session but for a change, when you have limited time, get in and get out with Tabata!

3. CHANGE is key so if it isn't Tabata, try another HIT type of training such as circuit training or plyometrics are the way to go. These high-intensity, explosive exercises such as jumping and hopping, get your heart rate up quickly, which equals a higher calories-burned rate. Additionally, these athletic moments really target your fast-twitch muscles, coordination and agility, so you're training your body in an entirely new and challenging way. Constantly challenging your body and workouts equals results.

4. MUSIC...Spend some time to put together a killer summer workout playlist! Listen to fast music. If you seem to have trouble pumping yourself up for a workout, try music that makes you want to move!! Yes, it takes time to put together your list but a little bit of time invested is all you need to give you that extra boost!!

5. PROPER FORM. Do you hold on to the handles when you walk on the treadmill? Maybe you lean on the handlebars while biking, or walking on the Stairmaster/step-mill. If you use these machines, you need to use proper form in order to get the most out of your workout! As a general rule, keep your arms moving freely and naturally, keep your abs in, your weight centered over your hips, and your shoulders down and back. If you are an incline lover like me, of course you may not be able to walk freely but lightly grip handle and focus on your glutes!

Untitled from Gina Aliotti on Vimeo.

6. CONSISTENCY, DAY IN AND DAY OUT! I Hear too often that one is ON for a few days then falls off, then ON for another day then OFF for a day... The cycle is not going to get you the results you want. Consistency is KEY!

7. SUPPORT!! GINA ALIOTTI'S FITNESS NETWORK is just that and SO much more. You need ALL the support you can get when you are digging deep and pushing yourself. You are NOT alone and there are people that are digging deep with you and can help off you tools, tricks, motivation, and so much more! It is about having the right support group and network to never feel alone!!

8. FOCUS AND VISUALIZE while you work. I talk a lot about the importance of the mind-body connection and how that relates to your fitness goals. Although cardio or weight training isn't as Zen-like as yoga, cardio and resistance training can still benefit from a strong sense of awareness. The next time you workout, focus on the movements and breathing while squeezing those muscles. By engaging your mind, you can actually better engage your muscles which allows you to complete the exercise more easily, be more efficient with your training and therefore burn more calories ie get results quicker!! For more on this read my article THE POWER OF VISUALIZING YOUR GOALS.

9. DON'T OVERWORK OR OVERTRAIN. This might sound counter-intuitive but hear me out. We all know how important rest and recovery is but often when you have a goal in mind you forget and think more is better! Less is actually more and the sooner you can grasp this concept the quicker you will reach your goals!

10. ENJOY THE JOURNEY! Don't wait to be happy when you reach your goals, rather enjoy the journey as that is what matters and what makes life worth living! Be patient and enjoy the ride! Summer will come and go but the journey will last forever!

Many more tips to come as we enter into the Summer Months!!

Thank you for reading and best of luck as you begin your journey!

Good Morning! Monday it is... Once again Monday is here and is your glass half full or half empty?! For some Monday is seen as a bummer but for others an opportunity to take on the week and make it the best week yet. It is a new opportunity and I hope you see it that way! As we roll into a new week, I want you to focus on being YOU! Today in OUR FITNESS NETWORK, I discuss how we cannot be easily influenced by external forces. We often don't even realize we are being influence but we are! Today, as you go on with your day and start your week, think about your goals and reasons for why are are doing what you are doing. Be sure you are doing what YOU want to be doing and what resonates well with you!

Today and this week, BE YOU!!

It's Friday, gosh I love Friday's

There is something about Friday's that I just love. It doesn't matter what is going on, how my week was, where my head is or what things are going on around me, Fridays are a great days!! I just love Fridays! No matter what, not sure about you, but it seems that things seem to go smoother on Fridays. Everything from waking up energetic, getting in a great workout, eating clean to just feeling all around Great. People seem to be more patient on the road, in grocery store lines, over the phone and often they extend an extra hand to help more so than they would on a Monday... It doesn't hurt that today is bright and sunny in San Diego but there is just something about Friday's that makes me smile! I think most people are on the same page because it seems that more people smile of Friday's. Is it because most people are off and the weekend is near or because there is literally different energy in the air on Fridays? No matter what the reason is, Fridays are happy and positive days in Gina's world and I embrace every one with open arms! Imagine if everyday was a Friday, do you think the world would be a happier better place? That is a question we will never have an answer to but there is no reason why we can't make everyday Friday, right!?

Todays Friday started out with energy that was a 10, a great workout with my beautiful husband (see below), amazing clients and ending with a beautiful photo shoot on the beach for a friend that needs couple shots. Hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday! Let's keep this energy going throughout the weekend and into next week!

Meal #2: Quest Bar with 1 cup fresh strawberries :)

What is your favorite Snack?

Most people fall off their program and "eating clean" plan when it comes to snacking! This is my area of expertise because I am a veggie lover and have allowed veggies to become my go to snack of choice! Veggies are FREE on the Gina Approved plan and have saved me from eating my hand along with helped my clients stay on track with their programs! Veggies are the answer to all your snacking problems. Need something to turn to when you either are starving and it isn't "meal time" or just feel like you need something to much on... One of my favorite Gina Approved Snacks is sliced cucumbers! Better yet, have a little sweet tooth... add a few packets of Stevia over top and they taste just like watermelon, yummy!

If I am in a hurry and need to make this a meal, Add egg whites over top and it makes for a perfect quick and crunchy meal!

What are your favorite go to GA Snacks?

Did you Validate?

Yesterday I mentioned the concept of validation along with one of my favorite videos. Did you validate? It is a simple gesture that can change a life! More on validation in the Network along with latest food find and recipe! Made it to Seattle safe and sound!

Learning to be flexible... Okay so as much as we are creatures of routine, we must be flexible! I have written a lot about this and how you just have to make things work... It is amazing how we have certain ways of doing things, certain spoons and bowls we eat our oatmeal with, certain blenders that make our shakes absolutely perfect, the right size ice to make those shakes smooth and creamy, etc. The list goes on and on and you know what I am talking about! Then you travel, you are away without your blender, utensils, etc. This doesn't happen often because I am one to bring my Vita Mix with me but when you are traveling and being charged for every pound, you think twice if your 10# blender is really worth it. Sometimes I think it might have been worth the extra dough!! ;)

SO safe and sound in beautiful Seattle, no rain and so green and peaceful! Great times with my girl, who i have not seen in way too long, Andrea Dumon, so Life is great! We made a super yummy GA meal last night. I took over the kitchen and made a delicious Giant GA Salad with greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, toasted almonds and a side of red pepper Tilapia, Brussel Sprouts and Zucchini! IT was amazing and it was a wonderful night of great food and conversation! Nearly 2 years post competition days and here I am with my girlfriend who I met while turning pro at the 2005 USA's and it is 6 years ago, enjoying such similar food! This is lifestyle everyone! There is no ON and OFF there is just Life! Whether you are in the heart of competition, not a competitor, in the midst of a nutritional program to lose a few extra pounds, it is about creating a healthy lifestyle and sticking to it because it is what we know and what we do! Amazing!

With that being said wow, the friendships created and made through life! No matter what you do in life, competition, work related, social experiences, we meet certain people along our journey that come into our lives for a reason! Relationships are what life is about! Creating those relationships with people that will last a lifetime. Sharing experiences, memories, laughing, crying, reminiscing that is what life is all about! Remember to value your friendships with all you have because without them, life just wouldn't be the same!

We will be capturing footage of our journey together from stage to the life beyond and how each experience has shaped not only our friendship but our lives in general! Check back for when the footage is available in Gina Aliotti's Fitness Network.

Here is a quick preview of where it all began... oh the memories and great times! You can never forget where you came from and where you are going but most of all how each and ever experience shapes who you are today!

Have an amazing and Safe Holiday weekend!

Thursdays motivation

Good Morning and hope everyone is having a great week! Wow, yesterday was the Farewell of 25 years of Oprah's memorable show. What does this mean, this means today's motivation and thoughts are touching on some topics she discussed and topics we all discuss in our Fitness Network! As Oprah said, "I see me in you and you in me. So often I teach and so often you teach me." If that couldn't be more of how I feel about each and every one of you! We are blessed to have each other, this special place you can come to to find understanding and to know that You are Not Alone!

Here is a recap of a few powerful lessons and to read more, LOG IN to the Network today!:

-Encourage yourself to be more of yourself.
-A common denominator among people is the sense of wanting validation.
-People want to be heard, seen and to know that what they say matters.
-Everyone want to be heard with the least amount of judgment.
-Wait and listen to the guidance that is bigger than your mind.
-Your life is always speaking to you. Listen to the subtle whispers that will only get louder and louder if you don't listen.
-What are the whispers in your life right now?
-Your life is speaking to you, what is it saying?

Today Validate someone. Tell them that what they say and what they do, means something to you!

I have posted this video favorite in the site before but wanted to repost for all to watch. ENJOY!

Happy Thursday! Be your best and Validate someone!!

Sugar Free isn't Free, according to me!!

Raw cane sugar, evaporated cane juice, agave nectar, honey, maple syrup, beet sugar, date sugar, Xylitol, Stevia, which do you use??

I believe that the one thing that should be used and eaten in extreme moderation is sugar. I say, if you can avoid it, please avoid it but at the same time, trying to be realistic so Extreme Moderation is Key!

Sucrose, evaporated cane juice, beet, raw and date sugar, maple syrup and even HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP contain about the same number of carbohydrates–4 grams per teaspoon. That equates to 12 grams of carbohydrates per tablespoon. There are 16 tablespoons in a cup so that means 192 carbs in a cup! Yes, that is right!! Now let's get into how these carbs affect your blood sugar and insulin levels by looking into their glycemic index, which is a reference for how it affects your blood sugar. The higher the number the higher the index and more it makes your blood sugar sky rocket.

Glucose 96
Fructose 22
Lactose 46
Sucrose (white sugar) 64
Brown sugar 64
Barley malt syrup 42
Brown rice syrup 25
Raw honey 30
Agave nectar 15
HF corn syrup 62
Stevia less than 1
Sugar cane juice 43
Evaporated cane juice 55
Maple syrup 54
Black strap molasses 55

If you are going to go for a low glycemic, no calorie sweetener, this doesn't mean that you can consume it freely! If you are going to consume a no calorie sweetener, for the natural form of Stevia. My favorite is Stevia in the Raw!

Please Please refrain or really monitor your consumption of "Sugar Free Products containing:
Splenda, Equal, NurtiSweet, etc. So often I hear and see people consuming these products by the spoonful because they are calorie free. Don't forget, if it has to be processed and manipulated in anyway shape or form, it is not natural and can cause digestion and health issues. When our bodies CANNOT digest these foreign chemical substances, they tend to pass right through us, in not such a favorable way, causing GI issues and discomfort! This is no excuse to eat them like they are going out of style. The biggest misconception is Zero Calories, Zero Carbs, Zero Sugars are FREE foods. Think again! It means that our bodies CANNOT digest these foreign chemical substances and they pass directly through us. I hear you, it is so tempting to want to use that no calorie alternative and use it freely, right?! I know, I have been there! Especially when you are following a strict nutritional program and are looking for that little bit of sweetness, I know! I have been there. The thing is, you have to think long term and not short term. Just like the nutritional program you are following today should be a lifestyle approach and not short term fix, so should your decisions. Allow your decisions to guide you into what is going to serve you for life, not for right now! Because I have been there and understand, that is why I am so passionate about making meals, dishes, snacks that will Suffice that Sweet tooth without going overboard with Natural Sweeteners. There are creative ways you can use natural sweeteners, such as Stevia--in moderation, and foods that on their own add sweetness, to "have your cake and eat it too". You will find many of these Gina Approved Creations and ideas in Gina Aliott's Fitness Network where I want to help you learn how to fight and satisfy those cravings the right way and not the Right Now Way!

-If you do one thing, avoid SUGAR!
-If you use it, use it very moderately!
-Use a natural form of a no calories/no sugar substitute over Stevia for added sweetness.
-Sugar Free doesn't equate to a Gina Approved Free Food!
-Moderation is key and anything out of moderation needs to be addressed, sugar free or not!
-Go for Stevia as it is not only has the lowest rating on the glycemic Index but is a natural form!

If you take anything from this, keep sugar to a bare minimum and eliminate if at all possible!

Chapters of life...

Chapters of life, boy how they change! Life is like a book. We all have a start and an ending and in between we have all these chapters that make the book complete. One chapter may be nothing but challenges, one may be nothing but ease and in between there are different experiences that are faced and embraced.

Just got back from catching up with client/friend Brianne Ramirez. Wow, how things change and what a journey we are all on! I am so proud of Brianne and so glad I was able to meet her precious bundle of joy, Ellianna!! I was fortunate to be a part of Brianne's journey from several years ago and still am a part of her journey today. She came to me to help her reach her figure goals. From there she became not only my client but we became a solid team. I was able to watch her grow, physically and mentally, along her journey. The stage brings about only the icing on the cake. What is beyond the icing are the layers. Yes, Brianne stepped on stage a well polished champion each time, winning the Jr. Cal Overall and her class at the 2010 Cal but beyond the trophy and accomplishment of wins, her journey to the stage helped shape her to be the person she is today. Her journey was not only about the stage but about life and its challenges, facing them, moving past them and continuing to strive for goals and her dreams. As life continues and we turn pages in our personal books, each chapter has something different to offer, a new experience to embrace, lessons to be learned and so many things to look forward to! From a top competitor to now a proud mother, Brianne has now turned a page in her book and began a new fresh chapter. This chapter is going to be a bit longer than the last but a chapter that will and already has changed her life forever. Brianne now can face the challenges of motherhood but utilize the tools and learning experiences from her previous chapters, to carry over into this new and exciting chapter of life. Challenges of being a competitor all had their purpose and created the amazing individual Brianne is today. Motherhood encompasses challenges of its own but Brianne has so many of the valuable tools from recent chapters to help her continue to take on whatever may come her way. Each chapter of our life helps shape the next chapter.

From the first time I met Brianne, I knew that she was someone who would set her mind to something and give it everything she had to give. From Figure Champion to Wife to Mother, no matter what she does, she does it whole heartedly! Today, I was able to meet Brianne who has offically started a new chapter in her life. It was nothing less than amazing. Seeing Brianne's growth and seeing where she is today made me smile and continues to make me proud. I am so proud of her and wanted to extend my love to her as she takes on new challenges and continues to turn pages in her book. Congratulations on ALL your success, Brianne.

With so many members pregnant and turning pages and chapters in their own book, Brianne and I wanted to share her experience with all of you! This week, I am So excited to post words from Brianne's pregnant journey with our family at Gina Aliotti's Fitness Network! I was able to catch Brianne on Camera where she shared with us a glimpse of her journey, challenges, tips, etc! We will be touching base with her again in the coming weeks to see how she adjusts into motherhood and finds her balance again.

Congratulations Brianne! Look forward to hearing more about your journey and continuing to be a part of your new chapter!

Some things never change!

The big celebrity wedding Prince William and Kate was big news and several people tuned in early in the morning USA time to watch the two say "I Do". Came across this photo and found it very interesting... Some things never change and Fantasy Fairy Tales, that you read as a young child live on today! It made me smile and brought back memories of being a young child and the love stories that will never be forgotten. Don't forget to remember childhood stories that made you smile and never forget that story book love is alive today! This blog is dedicated to all things health related but more than that, all things that are worth sharing and that may just make you smile!

GA Breakfast Burrito

What is for breakfast? Breakfast is one of the most important if not the most important meal of your day! You need to "Break" your nightly "Fast" with a healthy meal. Increasing your metabolism, with this initial meal, is key to your short and long term success. Not only will a healthy breakfast set your metabolism for the day but it has been shown to help minimize cravings throughout the day. A healthy balanced breakfast includes a lean protein, complex carbohydrate, healthy fat and maybe a small piece of fruit. If you are a creature of habit, which I am sure you are, you most likely tend to eat the same thing every morning. Let me guess... Oatmeal either a protein shake or egg whites and maybe a few berries!? Change things up, for once, and try out my favorite healthy breakfast burrito!

Gina's Favorite Breakfast Burrito

-1/2 cup mushrooms, chopped
-1/2 cup Chopped fresh tomato

-1/4 cup black beans (optional)
-Nonstick cooking spray, such as PAM

1. Place a non-stick skillet over low heat and spray with nonfat cooking spray.

2. Add onions and mushrooms and saute until soft and golden.

3. Add egg whites and mix together until cooked.

4. Heat tortilla and add egg mixture down the center of the tortilla.

5. Add cheese, cilantro and tomato over egg mixture and fold tortilla into a burrito.

6. If you are using black beans, place along side burrito and enjoy!

Are you a Team Player?

Were you a high school or college athlete? Were you part of a team growing up and then as you got older realized that you had less time for team sport? You may have decided you didn’t have the time to be subject to scheduled practices and meetings so things just weren’t working out like they once did. No time for team sports yet you may have still been yearning for that competitive drive, within yourself, that you once had! Maybe that is why you are loving this fitness journey… It is one that you can embark upon without the time restrains and “practice commitments” yet create that inner drive to be better today than you were yesterday. In essence, you are your own team and can make your own “practice schedule”. You are able to have that competition within yourself and do so on your own terms! Even though our fitness journey’s are individualized and specific towards our own goals, it is important to still be that team player you once were. Being a part of a team tends to be the key component in going from Good to Great. If you are solely on your own or feel as if you are in this alone, that can hamper your success. If you are embarking upon this journey on your own, things may seem more difficult than they have to be. Having a team is what makes all the difference. There is a reason for team sports and what they offer.

If you don’t have time for those events anymore, reasonably so, remember that you can still create your team to help cheer you on and offer you the support you need! It is important to have those you can turn to or lean on for ideas, pick me ups, when you may be feeling down, keep me ups, when you are on a roll, and just to know that you are not alone! At Gina Aliotti's Fitness Network, we work together, with common goals and interests, we are on one team. This is the best team you could ask for because you are doing things on your own terms, time and schedule yet you have all the components of a team that keeps you pushing on! As we work together to keep our visions and goals alive and realistic, remember that you are part of a team. As we work together, we are making things happen and creating one of the most solid teams around. As you are the one in control of your “plays” remember that your team is here to back you!! Are you a part of a team? Join us and become a part of our online Team for all the support, motivation and tools to help you reach your goals but also to have those that understand and are right there with you digging deep! ~Gina

Did you have an excuse today?

What was your excuse today? In everything you do there is always an option. The option to have an excuse or the option to live by the "no excuse rule" and not allow anything to get in your way or stop you! You wake up to your alarm, what do you do? Do you snooze your alarm because you are "too tired" to get up or do you jump out of bed, tired or not, to get on with your day? As you go throughout your day, there is always going to be a choice you have to make? Are you going to be that person who is going to give into excuses or not let anything stop you!?

On a personal note: Today, only had 40 minutes to get in a workout! Had a few things to follow up on and add to my schedule which limited my usual gym time. Had to get something in but with limited time, what to do what to do... EXCUSE: I don't have enough time to get in a workout. I have a client in 40 minutes and there just isn't enough time OR NO EXCUSE RULE: 40 minutes, bring it, turn up the intensity and I better hurry and get this in!

2 choices
#1: No time... "oh well"

#2: Plenty of time but that means turn up the intensity and get it done!

My choice: #2

Decided to go for an intense 4 mile intense run! Got it done, along with 10 minutes of stretching and was still right on time for my client!

No excuses! Where there is a will, there is a way and if you have the will, you can find a way!

Here is one of my favorite videos that will make you second guess your excuses and put things in perspective!

Long Term Goals keep you focused

"You must have long term goals to keep you from being frustrated by short term obstacles."

Each obstacle is a stepping stone in your journey towards success. If you keep yourself focused on the bigger picture and where you were headed, you will start to embrace those bumps in the road and understand that they are all a part of your success! See each obstacle and challenge as on step closer to the grand scheme of things... your long term goals!

How is your mindset this Monday? What kind of mental environment have you started your week with? Are you ready to be that positive leader and motivator that you are or are you feeling like you need some positivity and motivation coming your way? Start your week out with a quick reflection on how you are feeling and if you are starting your week out in the right mindset. How you feel and act today will set the tone for this week ahead. Take a moment, right now to dig within yourself and feel how you are feeling and grasp your frame of mind… (no really stop reading and take a few moments to feel within YOU)

What did you discover? Are you in a happy place? Do you feel defeated? Do you feel motivated to take on whatever challenge comes your way? Do you feel as if nothing will stop you? Do you feel like a champion? Do you feel like you are on a roll and nothing can stop you? Do you feel alone? Do you feel energetic or maybe lethargic? With so many states of mind, think about how you feel? It is okay if a feeling came about that you are not proud of or if you are not feeling as great as you want to feel. Maybe you realized your energy is a 10 and you are ready to take on this week with everything you have! Regardless of where you are, a moment of reflection will allow you to stop, breath, know where you are at mentally, physically and emotionally, recognize it and be able to take action. Either adjust your frame of mind or go with it. If you are feeling positive and ready to go, carry over that energy into everything you do and everyone you meet. If you are feeling a little down, it is okay! You recognize it and now it is time to change your frame of mind and gain the positivity you are lacking and then carry on with your week!

The start of your week and the feelings you have within you are what are going to set the tone for the next 6 days. Monday’s mindset matters! Monday’s mentality is how you start your week. It is good to check yourself and feel and understand your mindset as you begin your week. How you feel and your attitude towards things will carry over into everything you do so let’s be sure your Monday mindset is starting out happy, optimistic, and energetic! You have it within you but you may just have to go digging to find what it is that is that is going to make you that positive motivational leader you are!

Go after it and go after it giving it everything you've got!
